Where Rest Meets Inspiration: My Laguna Reset
This month, I carved out a little escape to Laguna, a much-needed pause button in a year that’s been full, fast, and beautifully demanding. There’s something about stepping away, even for a moment, that reminds us how important it is to slow down. To breathe deeper. To let the noise settle long enough to hear our own thoughts again.
Laguna has recently held a special kind of magic for me.
The salty air, the soft hum of the waves, the glow of sunsets that look like they were painted by hand, it all feels like an invitation to reset.
And that’s exactly what I needed. Space to reflect on the year… the growth, the lessons, the whirlwind of projects, and the quiet moments in between.
But here’s the funny thing about being a creative: even when we’re “off,” we’re not really off.
Even as I tried to unplug, I found myself soaking in textures, colors, details, tile patterns in a little café, the warm sandy neutrals of the shoreline, the way the light bounces off coastal architecture. Inspiration doesn’t ask permission; it just shows up. And honestly, I love that about what I do.
This trip reminded me that rest and inspiration can exist together. That giving ourselves moments to recharge doesn’t quiet our creativity, it fuels it.
As I wandered through Laguna with coffee in hand and sun on my face, I felt ideas forming quietly in the background… ideas I know will find their way into future designs in their own perfect time.
Taking time for ourselves isn’t selfish, it’s essential. And if we’re lucky, those moments of pause leave us not only refreshed, but creatively re-energized.
Here’s to slowing down, taking care of our souls, and letting the world around us keep whispering ideas—whether we’re working or simply wandering.
p.s. you deserve a breath of fresh air, too.
