007 Meets Desert Design: Behind the James Bond Build

Sometimes the best projects come together in the most unexpected ways. The story of our #JamesBondBuild began when the clients’ company was actually working on my own home. During one of those visits, their son casually mentioned that his parents were building a custom home and from there, the rest was history.

I had the privilege of starting their design during my previous employment, but circumstances meant I had to step away before it was complete. A few months later, they circled back and asked me to pick up where we left off and carry their vision through to the finish line. Of course, I was thrilled. Getting the chance to rejoin the project and see it through from design development all the way into construction, felt like the perfect full-circle moment.

Now, as we walk through the behind-the-scenes progress of this modern desert home, I can’t wait to share how the design unfolded and how our Western Organic Modern style shaped the spaces inside.

The framing behind every home is when the vision actually starts to stand tall. Up until then, it’s drawings, mood boards, and a lot of imagination. But once those walls go up, you can finally walk through and say, “Oh, this is the kitchen we’ve been obsessing over” or “Yep, that hallway really does feel as good as we thought it would.” It’s like the design finally clicks into place, and you get that first real taste of how the home is going to live.

Wild to watch the plan pop off the page, isn’t it?

A huge thank you goes out to our incredible clients for trusting us with their dream, and to Grady Olson, the architect, for bringing such a thoughtful design to the table. We’ve truly loved every minute of creating this home, from the early design conversations to the messy, magical construction days and we couldn’t be more excited to see our clients step into this space and begin living their lives here.

After all, that’s when the project stops being ours and finally becomes theirs: a home, styled for living.
