Outlook Mountain: The Build Behind the Beauty
When we first stepped into the Outlook Mountain project, the home was already well underway. Framing had begun and the property was originally planned as a spec build. But as conversations evolved and the vision for the home expanded, the project naturally transitioned into what became more of an owner-builder collaboration — opening the door for thoughtful design reconsideration along the way.
Our introduction to this project actually began months earlier. In the spring of 2025, we launched a builder outreach campaign aimed at building relationships with local builders and developers who valued design-driven homes. That effort led us to connect with the team at Boxwell Homes. During our first meeting, they mentioned a project that had already been designed but was at a stage where they were open to revisiting some of the selections and exploring ways to elevate the overall design.
Around that same time, we had just returned from touring the St. George Parade of Homes, where we were immersed in a collection of beautifully executed desert contemporary homes. Seeing the level of intentionality in materials, textures, and architectural moments left us feeling inspired — and when we revisited the Outlook Mountain plans and finishes, we quickly realized this home had the potential to be something truly special with the right design direction.
Not long after, we met with one of the Boxwell Homes partners on site while the home was still in its framing stage. Walking through the structure, we discussed our ideas for how the home could evolve — from rethinking key design moments to introducing materials and finishes that better supported the architecture and surrounding desert landscape. That conversation quickly turned into a collaboration, and from there we got to work.
While the architectural bones were already in place, we reconfigured what we could and began reselecting the finishes throughout the home. From materials to architectural details, every decision was made with the intention of bringing depth, warmth, and a more cohesive desert contemporary feel to the project — transforming what began as a spec home into something far more considered.
The Structure Behind the Design
As this home continued to take shape, it was incredibly rewarding to watch the vision evolve from framing into the finished spaces you see today. Projects like Outlook Mountain are always the result of thoughtful collaboration, and we’re grateful to have partnered with the team at Boxwell Homes to bring new life and intention to this design.
A special thank you to the builders and homeowners for trusting us with the opportunity to reimagine the finishes and contribute to the direction of this home. It was a privilege to be part of the journey and to help shape a space that now feels both grounded in its architecture and beautifully connected to its surroundings.
